Trending for Spring Part II - White Hot

Jason Wu Collection Spring/Summer 2012
Last month, in New York and Paris, the world's premiere designers brought their latest collections to the catwalk.  A number of current trends will continue on into the spring and summer months (and perhaps beyond), and some new trends appear to be emerging.
One of the biggest changes from the fall/winter seasons into spring and summer is color.

In my last post I started a run-down on what I feel will be the hottest color trends for the coming Spring and Summer seasons.  To recap, starting with number 10, we have:

          10.  Lady Sings the Blues
            9.  Purely Pastel
            8.  Garden Party Florals
            7.  Neutral Territory

If you haven't seen the post, you might want to take a few minutes to check it out, but for now, we continue with our spring color countdown, begining with the purest of all colors - white.

Nearly every designer had at least one pure white confection in his or her Spring and Summer Collection.  Many collections were based around the pristine color, but the interpretations varied widely from designer to designer.

Vera Wang presented sheer gauzy delights, just asking to catch a summer breeze.

Oscar de la Renta's inspiration took form in white lace.  The designers at Bluemarine, among others embellished their dreamy whites in feathers and flowers.

Still other designers went with crisp cottons to show off the sharpness of their new designs.  We may see white every spring and summer, but there is no end to the dynamic of this color.

Take a look at the slides below for some very modern and innovative takes on summer's perennial favorite.
